Why It’s Worth Checking a Tire Pressure Light

Tire Fixed - Road Trip Ready!

Just before heading out to Virginia for a very special occasion, my great-grandma’s 90th birthday, my tire pressure warning light came on. With a long drive ahead, I knew it wasn’t something to ignore. The last thing I wanted was to deal with a flat tire on the side of the road or risk delaying the trip. So, I stopped by a Team Ryan location for a quick check.

It turned out there was a screw in the tire. You can see it in the photo, and Aidan even got to hold it after it was removed. Seeing exactly what caused the issue made it all feel very real, especially for the kids. What started as a quick tire repair turned into a memorable, behind-the-scenes moment. The boys got to see how a tire is inspected, how damage is repaired, and why something as small as a screw can lead to a loss of tire pressure.

Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Tire Pressure Warning Light

A tire pressure warning light often points to something simple, but it can quickly turn into a bigger issue if left unchecked. Whether it’s a nail, screw, or slow air leak, catching it early can help avoid:

  • Flat tires during a drive
  • Uneven tire wear
  • Reduced fuel efficiency
  • Safety concerns on the road

In this case, a quick visit prevented a much larger problem and kept our trip on track. The team quickly removed the screw, repaired the tire, and made sure everything was safe and ready to go.

No stress. No surprises. Just straightforward, reliable care that helps keep families on the road safely.
