Team Ryan Automotive started as an idea at the kitchen table in 2014, when Dan Ryan and his wife Shara decided it was time to do something different. Dan brought decades of hands-on experience as an ASE Certified Master Technician. Shara brought a background in project management and business operations. Together, they opened Team Ryan's first location in Buford in April 2015, with a simple goal: build a shop where customers are always told the truth about what their vehicle actually needs by team members that actually care, nothing more and nothing less. As the vision grew, so did Team Ryan, expanding to Cumming in 2022 and to Sugar Hill/Suwanee in 2026.
That founding goal came from something Dan saw firsthand over two decades in the industry: how easily trust can break down between a shop and the people it serves. He wanted to open a place where he controlled the narrative, so customers never had to wonder if they were getting the full story. Shara brought her own firsthand perspective to that mission. Having experienced firsthand what it feels like to be a woman navigating the auto repair experience by herself, she was determined that Team Ryan's customer experience be built on communication and respect, from the first phone call to the final invoice review. Every person deserves to be treated as someone capable of understanding their own vehicle - not talked over and not talked around.

We explain your vehicle's diagnosis in plain language, show you exactly where the problem is, and walk you through your options so you can make the decision that's right for you and your budget. We call it a transparency-first approach: we'd rather show you the proof than ask you to simply take our word for it.

Team Ryan Automotive isn't just located in Buford, Cumming, and Sugar Hill/Suwanee, we're part of these communities. Dan is a Gwinnett Technical College graduate, holding Associate's degrees in Automotive Technology and Welding and Joining Technology, and has been an ASE-Certified Master Technician for over 25 years. Shara was born in Atlanta and has family roots spanning Gwinnett, Forsyth, Cobb, and Fulton counties, all the way up to Catoosa County, Georgia. Dan and Shara live in Sugar Hill with their two boys, who love representing Team Ryan at local sponsorship events. Co-Founder & CEO
Dan oversees Sales and Operations across all three Team Ryan locations. He's passionate about developing the people behind Team Ryan, regularly seeking out industry and leadership training to bring back to the team. Outside the shop, Dan enjoys mountain biking, lifting weights, grilling over charcoal at home, and spending time with Shara and their two boys.
Shara Ryan
Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer
Shara leads marketing strategy across all three Team Ryan locations, bringing a female perspective to an industry historically dominated by a male voice. Drawing on her own experience as a customer, she champions a transparency-first philosophy built on respect, giving customers visual proof and clear explanations rather than asking them to take the shop's word for it. Outside of work, Shara enjoys library programs with the boys, swimming at Lake Lanier, and biking at local parks like Sims Lake.
